BACKGROUND:
Jackie Isom, Tracy Moore and Marilyn Ross-Smith were all appointed to the Diamond Square CRA in January, 2020. Their current terms are set to expire on January 30, 2024 and they have indicated an interest in being considered for reappointment.
It should be noted that per the Interlocal Agreement between the City of Cocoa, Brevard County and the Diamond Square Community Redevelopment Agency adopted on October 1, 2019, the terms of Diamond Square CRA members were modified as follows:
Seat #1: one year term
Seat #2: two-year term
Seat #3: three-year term
Seat #4: four-year term
Seat #5: four-year term
Seat #6: four-year term
Seat #7: appointed by County Commission
Additionally, no Agency member may serve more than two (2) consecutive terms followed by at least one year off from the board before they can be reconsidered for appointment.
As such, if all three members are reappointed their second term will expire on January 30, 2028.
Ms. Isom, Ms. Moore and Ms. Ross-Smith all meet the requirements for serving on a City board.
