body
BACKGROUND:

The City has a planning division that reviews plans and ensures adherence to the City planning code of ordinances. The City has struggled to fill all of the planning positions as this profession is in high demand. While the City currently has a multi-year agreement with RVI, Inc., it is desirable to have another planning service company available as planning projects can be complex or require different companies to do the plan reviews due to conflict of interest. Staff has worked with Inspire Placemaking Collective, Inc. on previous projects and now requests approval to enter into a multi-year agreement utilizing the City of Wildwood contract RFQ #2023-011. Task orders will be issued as each new planning project is assigned to Inspire. There is remaining budget of $106,399 in the FY 2024 adopted budget for planning consultants. Staff is requesting City Manager approval for task orders with Inspire up to the adopted FY 2024 budget. Should the budget for planning consultants exceed the approved budget, staff will present a budget amendment to City Council for consideration.

Future fiscal years authorization is requested for the City Manager to issue purchases up to the approved budget for planning consultants each fiscal year and to approve amendments or extensions to the agreement.
