Consider the Appointment of Brenda Fox, Angelia Smith and/or Gloria Weatherspoon, to Fill Two Vacancies on the Diamond Square Board.

BACKGROUND:
Ms. Fox served on the North Cocoa Civic League for over 15 years as well as served on the CDBG board for about 10 years. She wants to continue helping not only her children but the children of the community. She has a lot of interest in looking for ways to better the community and currently meets all requirements to serve on a City board.
Ms. Smith has lived in Cocoa for 50 years and mentioned that she has a deeply rooted family legacy here. She is currently serving as the Director for the Transfer Center at UCF. She is committed to addressing the needs of the community and meets all requirements to serve on a City board.
Ms. Weatherspoon has a passion for public service and has 25 years of leadership and project management experience, including involvement in the community. She is invested in seeing the community grow and flourish. She currently meets all requirements for serving on a City board.
The Diamond Square Board currently has two vacancies. One vacancy is a one-year term that will expire in January of 2025. The other vacancy is a two-year term that will expire in January of 2026. It is at the discretion of Council to determine which applicant they would like to fill each of the two vacancies and for which term.
The City's board vacancies were advertised on all of its social media platforms on March 21, 2024. They were also posted on the City's website on its Board Vacancies page prior to this date.
