BACKGROUND:
The Police Department’s current handheld and stationary radars are aged and some of which are more than twenty years old. These radars are the older technology and the plastic holding the units together has become brittle in the Florida sun. The units need to be replaced. Due to more pressing needs, the Police Department has been unable to budget for these radars, however, finds that the Guide to Equitable Sharing, section V, B, 1, d. allows for the ability to use these funds for this purchase of law enforcement equipment.
It is requested that this purchase be made through Stalker Radar Applied Concepts for two dual antenna radar systems and one LIDAR XS radar system in the amount of $6,825 from Federal Forfeiture funds.
