BACKGROUND:
Ms. Marian Jackson currently serves as a member on the board for the Housing Authority of the City of Cocoa. She has been a member of the board since December 2013. Her term expired on December 31, 2023 and she has expressed a desire for reappointment to the board. If reappointed, Ms. Jackson’s term on the board would be a four-year term through December 2027.
Pursuant to Section 421.05, Florida Statutes, Housing Authority appointments require a nomination from the Mayor and consideration by the City Council. The City Clerk spoke with Mayor Blake and he fully supports the nomination of Ms. Jackson.
The position was advertised on the city’s website and social media.
A current roster is attached for Council’s review.
