body
BACKGROUND:

Allegra at Cocoa Apartments is a 13-building, 312-unit multi-family residential development situated on approximately 53.18 acres at the northwest corner of Cox Road and US Highway 524. The project includes a mix of one- and two-bedroom units, along with a clubhouse and various related amenities. The property is identified by Brevard County Parcel ID: 24-35-23-00-11.

The overall site plan (Exhibit A) shows internal private roads to provide access to its residential buildings. Per Chapter 2, Article 1, Section 2-9 of the City of Cocoa Code of Ordinances, City Council is the sole authority to name streets within the city.

Furthermore, Brevard County 9-1-1 Administration has requested the City to adopt and record official names for these private roads to ensure proper emergency response and facilitate accurate mapping and navigation. The proposed names, in coordination with the developer and Brevard County 9-1-1, have been deemed appropriate and are ready for formal adoption by City Council.

Staff recommends that City Council approve the resolution to adopt the street names "Seacove Drive", "Ocean Mist Place", "Golden Hour Lane", "Lighthouse Lane", and "Sandy Shores Lane" for the private roads within the Allegra at Cocoa apartment complex.
