BACKGROUND:
Staff is requesting a multi-year piggyback off of Lake County’s bid 22-730 for purchases of fire equipment and fire department operational supplies and services. As a result of bid 22-730, individual contracts were awarded to following vendors: Ten-8 Fire and Safety LLC, Technical Rescue.com, North American Fire Equipment Company(NAFECO), Municipal Equipment Company LLC, Municipal Emergency Services(MES) Inc, Medline Industries Inc, Life-Assist Inc, Henry Schein, Fisher Scientific Company, Bennett Fire Products Company, and All Safe Industries. Entering into a Multi-Year agreement for the Fire Department will ensure a significate cost savings to our citizens for the purchase of fire equipment, service, and supplies needed to for fire operations the contract term of this agreement
Staff is also requesting City Manager approval to execute any amendments and extensions related to these piggyback agreements. All purchases under these agreements will remain within the City Manager’s approval authority. Any purchases that exceed the City Manager’s authority will be presented to City Council for approval.
STRATEGIC PLAN CONNECTION:
Public Safety- Reducing and eliminating the City’s exposure to hazards impacts through effective planning, targeted funding, and hazard mitigation helps to reduce the loss of life, human suffering, and property damage.
BUDGETARY IMPACT:
Purchases of fire equipment, supplies and services will be within the adopted budgets for FY 2024 and any future years that these contracts are valid.
