BACKGROUND:

 

On March 21, 2024,  purchasing conducted a public bid opening for ITB B-24-07-COC for the Rehabilitation of 1058 Grove Avenue.  The solicitation was broadcast in Vendorlink on  February 13, 2024 to 716 registered vendors of which 33 reviewed the bid documents and a total of 2 responses were received.

The current lowest responsive bidder is Patriot Response Group LLC.

 

Being that the project was initially under the City Manager’s signing authority, it was not necessary to bring it before Council for approval.  The contractor’s initial investigation of the site conditions reveal the need to issue a change order to the scope of work.  This change brings the final project cost above the City Manager’s signing authority and City Council approval is now necessary.  Additionally, a Contingency Resolution is requested in the event additional unforeseen changes are identified and necessary to complete the project.  The Change Order Resolution requests a 10% contingency or $8,683.00, a not to exceed amount for the contract.

 

Staff requests approval of the Construction Change Order for the project from $74,631.00 to $86,831.00 and approval of a Contingency Resolution authorizing the City Manager to execute change orders not to exceed 10% or $8,683.00.
