BACKGROUND:

Public Works has received several complaints about the condition of Range Road. Consultants were tasked with assessing the condition of the Range Road pavement in May of 2024. The report recommended full-depth reclamation for a portion of Range Road from Cocoa Bay south to the City limits, and regular milling and paving for the remaining portion from Cocoa Bay to Rice Drive.

During the budgeting process for Fiscal Year 2025, Range Road from the City limits on the south side to Rice Drive was identified as a candidate for full depth reclamation. Full depth reclamation (FDR) is a pavement rehabilitation technique in which the full flexible pavement section and a predetermined portion of the underlying materials are uniformly pulverized and blended together to produce a homogeneous stabilized base course (SBC).
