BACKGROUND:
The Police Department received notification of its 2021 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) allocation in the amount of $13,902. The Police Department is planning on utilizing these funds in furtherance of educating the officers and its staff.
The term of the grant is for a period of two years and all funds and interest must be expended. The Police Department requests public comment and City Council’s consideration. Funds will not be awarded until fiscal year 2022 and at that time, the Department will present to City Council the award and budget amendment to accept the revenue.
