BACKGROUND:

 

I would like to propose that the Council consider a motion to direct our staff to draft a letter to the Governor’s Office, as well as our state representative, requesting special funding. This funding would be aimed at identifying and negotiating the purchase of privately owned environmentally sensitive lands within the city of Cocoa. The preservation of these lands is vital to maintaining our community's ecological balance and ensuring that our natural resources are protected for future generations.
