BACKGROUND:

During any given calendar year, the number of street closures approved by the City Council within the Central Business District (CBD) zoning district shall not exceed twenty-four (24) days. Any street closure lasting in excess of four (4) hours shall be counted as one full day, while any street closure of four (4) hours or less shall be counted as one half day per the Special Events Ordinance No. 04-2018.

Events:

Run for Responders 5K, Saturday, January 6, 2024 (3:00pm-10:00pm)
Harrison St.: between Brevard Ave. and Riveredge Blvd.
Brevard Ave.: between Oak St. and Harrison St.
Oak St.: between Riverside Dr. and Brevard Ave.
Derby St.: at Riverside Drive and Brevard Ave.
Riverside Dr.: between Oak St. and Church St.
Church St.: between Riverside Dr. and east terminus of Church St. The participants will head east towards the Riverfront Park Boardwalk towards the finish line.

The race route will open immediately after all the participants have all crossed the finish line. Harrison Street will reopen at Delannoy and Riveredge at 10pm.
Total Closure - One Day

Martin Luther King Jr. Peace March and Service, Monday, January 15, 2024 (11:00am-4:00pm).
Provost Park on Varr Ave. to SR 520 going east to Riveredge Blvd. into Riverfront Park. This event does not require a street closure. However, the Peace March does include the streets of Cocoa including the SR520. The organizers are required to have the proper DOT permitting in place to hold the march.
Total Closure - This event does not require a street closure.
