body
BACKGROUND:

The Cocoa CRA and Mr. Steinberger signed an Agreement for him to complete a Commercial Fa?ade Improvement Plan (CFIP) Grant for renovations to the property located at 101 Brevard Avenue, Cocoa, Florida. The original timeline given is one year, with a one-time-fits-all extension available, if needed.

He is choosing to exercise that option, due to delays that occurred on the project. Namely, the construction on Willard Street / SR 520 (westbound), where his building has a zero-lot line to the new sidewalk installed by the contractor working for Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT). His building sustained damage that had to be repaired by the contractor prior to the commencement of painting.

The combination of these factors were pushing up against Mr. Steinberger's grant expiration deadline. So, to be safe, Staff initiated discussions with Mr. Steinberger to explain the need for, and benefits of, an extension, underscoring to him that this does not mean that he must take the whole extension to complete his project, only that this is available to him.
