BACKGROUND:

Over the past seven years, the City has successfully implemented assessment programs such as the Valve and Hydrant Assessment Program, Valve Replacement Program, Cross Connection Control (CCC) Program and several pipeline condition assessment projects. These programs provide data critical to the successful implementation of a proactive asset management team within Water Field Operations (WFO).

As part of the development of the asset management team and as support to WFO in maintaining the City's potable water distribution system, the City of Cocoa has requested that Jacobs assist WFO in prioritizing asset replacement activities, scoping and preparing contract documents, managing outside services, organizing and utilizing asset data, and increasing staff collaboration and interactions. The services under this task order will include providing project and assessment information management assistance, development of quality control processes, and long-term strategic planning.

New Jacobs contract was approved by City Council on November 13, 2019 under RFQ-20-03-COC, and signed on February 5, 2020. Staff requests approval of Task Order 2020-05 with Jacobs.
