BACKGROUND:
The Fire Department applied for a Brevard County EMS Grant in late 2019 for a Lucas Compression Device. The Lucas Device is a piece of medical equipment that assists paramedics and EMTs with chest compressions at medical incidents that require CPR. On January 28th, 2019 the City was notified that it had been awarded the EMS grant for the Lucas Device in the amount of $16,541.00. This is a 100% grant and there is no required match by the City.
