BACKGROUND:
The City of Cocoa City Hall building is monitored by an armed security guard on a daily basis to provide security specifically related to the customer service activities and financial exchanges. The security guard monitors and directs traffic in and out of the building, provides support service to the Customer Service Division, visitors to City Hall, answers and directs incoming calls on the main phone line, accepts deliveries, bids and other forms of confidential correspondence, monitors and provides authorized visitors access.
G4s Secure Solutions (USA) Inc. has provided Level III Armed Security Service to the City of Cocoa through the State Term Contract via piggy-back contract for numerous years. The Florida Department of Management Services has renewed their contract for an additional five-year term beginning 3/20/2020, with a budgeted 3% annual increase. The piggy-back contract is based on 50 weeks, no holiday coverage commencing 10/01/2020. The City of Cocoa has secured a cost at a lower rate than the Florida State ceiling rate through the piggy-back contract.
The City of Cocoa has been provided exceptional service from G4s and wishes to continue with the same level of professional and dedicated service the City employees and public have come to expect.
