body

BACKGROUND:

The Dyal WTP maintains several air conditioned buildings that must remain at the proper temperature due to the type of treatment equipment located within the structures.  The A/C unit servicing the surface water chemical building has reached the end of its useful life due to age, and a new A/C unit is required. The replacement of this A/C unit was not budgeted for FY2021, and a budget transfer is required to purchase the new A/C unit.

Staff is proposing to use existing funds in the utilities operating budget to fund the purchase.  Staff is requesting that $25,344 be transferred from Account No. 421-4020-536.46-02 to Account No. 421-4020-536.64-00 to cover the cost of the new replacement A/C unit for the Surface Water chemical building. There have been previous transfers out of Account No. 421-4020-536.46-02 approved by the City Manager.  The cumulative effect including this budget transfer exceeds the City Manager’s approval authority.

Staff recommends approval of this budget transfer.
